WHY I AM STOKED TO BE A MENTOR:
I’m a freelance writer and actor as my job and am lucky enough to have the time to delve in and really help an aspiring author out! Last year I got my agent – Sarah LaPolla at Bradford Literary – in large part because of Pitch Wars and I want to pass on the dream life… by helping my mentee also score an agent while arming them with inspiration and industry info!
WHY SUBMIT TO ME?
I’m a LET’S MAKE THIS HAPPEN, Positive energy rules the universe, Dive into that grape pit and stomp away until we create the best darn wine (so to speak) imaginable -kind of gal! If you want to seize every day and come away from Pitch Wars feeling like you just went on an amazing adventure that has changed you forever… then submit to me!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR IN A MENTEE:
I’m look
ing for page turning, YA psychological, thrillers, horrors, or creepy suspense novels that pull me in from the start and keep me reading because I care about what happens to the characters.
My ideal mentee has a manuscript that is complete and near ready for querying. A MS that has been seen by a critique partner or beta reader and has already gone through several revisions.
As far as what would make me choose a mentee versus pass on them… It’s all about the willingness to work together to make the best darn book possible! I want to help my mentee get an agent! That will take work and time and above all an openness to hear and respond to critiques. #InThisTogether — REVIEW the Contest Rules HERE —

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ME AS A MENTOR:
My editorial style will be page 
by page specific as to what I think is working versus what needs clarification, higher stakes, tension, pacing, or (gasp!) deleting. I’ll focus on helping to solidify a main character who readers will fall for and a story that compels readers to keep flipping chapters.
Over the two months, I’ll be working with my mentee via email and phone conversations – possibly even Skype parties! I’ve got heap loads of energy and passion and am stoked to do everything I can to help my mentee’s dreams come true!!!
